With over 50 years of combined experience in the legal cannabis industry, our team has expertise in every aspect of cannabis operations, from cultivation to extraction and beyond. 

Who we are

Jeff and Amber Nagel

Jeff and Amber have spent the last 20 years in cannabis business and plant medicine research. They have built and run successful retail, cultivation, manufacturing and distribution companies in 4 states and 3 countries and have come back to NC to leave their legacy in their home state.

For the past 7 years they have been working with Apollon Formularies in the UK and Jamaica doing extensive research with the integration of adaptogenic mushrooms with cannabinoids as they pertain to cancer therapeutics, movement disorders, inflammation and brain function.

Dr. Herb Fristche, Dr. Stephen Barnhill and Jeff Nagel recently published a paper in the Online Journal for Alternative and Supplemental Medicine based on this research. The same research was the inspiration for the product line of Grateful Meds NC.

Ken Breese

Ken began his cannabis industry career with Speedweed, Los Angeles’ first cannabis delivery service. Ken built his name managing operations, and he also produced comedy podcasts for SpeedWeed’s entertainment arm, BetterBox.

Ken also worked with Jeff and Amber at W Vapes and then, in 2024, Ken reunited with them to bring his operational expertise to Grateful Meds. Ken’s experience in scaling cannabis operations in California and Massachusetts has become a pillar of Grateful Med’s foundation.
